Knockaround designs sunglasses for real movement, real sport, and real Aussie conditions. That means cutting through the confusion around polarization vs UV protection.
Here's what actually matters.
All Knockaround lenses sold in Australia offer UV400 protection, blocking 100% of harmful UVA and UVB rays.
That's the part that protects your eyes. Everything else is about how you see.
Polarization reduces glare caused by light reflecting off flat surfaces like water, roads, and sand.
It does not protect your eyes from UV on its own — UV protection must be added separately.
For some activities, polarization is great. For others, it can actually get in the way.
Here is why cyclists, runners, and golfers often choose non-polarized lenses — even though they still get full UV400 protection.
👉 Non-polarized + UV400 = safer, more predictable vision
👉 Runners benefit more from clarity and depth than glare elimination.
👉 Many pros avoid polarization for visual accuracy.
